Called in for a simple cafe latte whilst on a bike tour.
The restaurant looked cosy . The host was very pleasant. Without ordering he brought out some biscuits to have with our coffee. When I went to pay he refused to allow me to ....WHAT.... Grazie Mille. We were making our way to Poste....big descent...otherwise we would have been back for a meal. And we would have paid...

In short, my favorite restaurant from today on!
I'll explain:
My girlfriend and I travel around a lot, with a starting base near Rome at least 2 or 3 times a month we go out and leave for different destinations, remaining in Lazio, moving away to neighboring regions, moving outside and abroad, eating every time in places typical, looking for local food, be it tradition or innovation, but we have never found such a high quality/price ratio in a place!
Greeted with a smile by Flori (the girl who served and welcomed us all evening making us feel at home, pampered and spoiled) and made to sit next to a lit fireplace (given the chill outside) it already warms our hearts.
We start with an appetizer with cold cuts and mozzarella to start eating while waiting for the first courses.... already with the tasty appetizer, and at our request not too abundant, they began to smile, but when the wolf's teeth arrived (pasta with porcini sausages with the addition of very fresh grated truffle) and the polenta with porcini mushrooms and fresh truffle, our eyes and palate lit up.... My God I think I would have cried at how good it was if I hadn't been too caught up in eat that BEAUTIFUL amount of pasta (photo attached).
After the first course the second courses arrive, sausages on the grill and pork shank with potatoes and with the requested addition of very fresh truffle (it was so good that we had to ask for the addition) we touched heaven with our whole hand, it melted in the mouth releasing flavors that mixed together creating a whirlwind of sensations never experienced before.
All this surrounded by a lit fireplace and a picturesque room, in a mix of modern and traditional, tending towards the latter, allowing chatter and relaxation at the same time.
The service goes without saying, we thank Flori and hope very much to find her again the next time we return (I hope as soon as possible with friends to let them experience this paradise and to make a good impression by letting them know about it too)
P.S. seeing the plane donated by Bud Spencer to Nicola in the parking lot is an emotion that brings a lump to the throat, making us relive all the emotions we experienced thanks to that great man who was.....

With the shin I asked if I could take away the bone for my dog and they did me the favor of also giving me some more especially for her, which made me incredibly happy :')
Great food. The service not so much.
La Tana del Lupo offers good home cooking, with friendly service and generous portions at more than fair prices. The Bud Spencer plane story at the entrance adds a fun touch. The generous starter is enough for two people, with satisfying fried foods, cold cuts and cheeses. The first and second courses are also very substantial. Overall, if you're in the neighborhood, it's a reliable choice for a hearty meal at a reasonable price with the flavors of home.
Special ❤️❤️❤️ I grew up there, and I still travel kilometers to go there...it's really worth it...my favorite place for 20 years, near the fireplace❤️😍 I love it, if you want to eat local specialties, it's the right place ❤️❤️❤️❤️ start with the appetizer, they will bring you a special cutting board, first, very faithful to the wolf's teeth, mushrooms, sausage and peas, or the amatriciana, for second a nice mixed grill with a side vegetable 😍😍 and you can't miss the homemade dessert!!!
